What is think twice?
The Think Twice campaign is focused on making the most compelling case to elected leaders about both the value and need for nonprofit resources, recognizing their commitment to balancing the many needs of our residents and the programs that support our region’s vitality.
Our campaign impacts state and local decisions through diverse stakeholder collaboration, public education, targeted messaging and advocacy on the many contributions nonprofits make in our communities.
Who's Involved?
A joint project of the Nonprofit Roundtable of Greater Washington and the Center for Nonprofit Advancement, “Think Twice Before You Slice” urges local, regional and state officials to act responsibly when making budget decisions. For years, nonprofit programs and services have multiplied the impact of county and state funds through volunteers, and donated goods and services. Instead of cutting back, it is now time to protect that investment.
The Think Twice campaign mobilizes the partnership's more than 1,000-organization membership base to support the campaign. The groups previously collaborated on a nonprofit advocacy project in 2008 to maintain philanthropic support during Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae’s transition to federal conservatorship.
Our Campaign Cabinet features nonprofit leaders who "Think Regionally, Lead Locally" on budget issues affecting nonprofits and the people we serve. The Cabinet meets periodically to discuss major trends, themes and strategies to support nonprofits and educate stakeholders about the challenges and opportunities facing our decision-makers.
The campaign’s mission is simple: to bring awareness to and educate our local and state officials on the contributions nonprofits make in their communities. Join us.
